ProductScope

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026

The short version

  • Amazon pages you view and the products you save stay in your browser. We don’t receive them.
  • We store your email, plan status and a daily usage count so your account works.
  • Payments are handled by Paddle. We never see your card details.
  • We don’t sell data and we don’t show ads.
  • You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

ProductScope (“we”, “us”) provides a Chrome extension and the website productscope.org.uk. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at support@productscope.org.uk.

2. What we collect

DataWhy we need it
Email addressTo create and identify your account, and to contact you about the Service.
PasswordStored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read your password.
Google account ID and email (only if you sign in with Google)To sign you in. We never receive your Google password.
Plan and subscription status, renewal date, Paddle subscription IDTo know which features you can use.
Verification code and unfinished sign-upsWhen you sign up we email a one-time code. If you start but do not finish, we keep your email and a hashed password for up to 24 hours, then delete them.
Daily count of products you analyze in bulkTo apply your plan’s daily limit.
IP address and basic request informationRecorded when you sign up (to prevent trial abuse) and in server logs and rate limiting (for security and troubleshooting).

We do not see or store your card details. Paddle, our payment provider, handles them.

3. What stays on your device

  • Product details read from Amazon pages, the products you save, your costs and your settings are kept in your browser’s extension storage. We do not receive them.
  • The extension only reads pages on the supported Amazon websites, to show its panel. It does not read other sites.
  • For keyword ideas, your browser asks Amazon’s own search-suggestion service for suggestions, the same way it does when you type in Amazon’s search box. Amazon sees that request.
  • If you use the right-click menu to research selected text, that text is only used to open an Amazon search.

Removing the extension deletes this local data from your browser.

4. How we use data

  • To provide the Service and your account (needed to perform our contract with you).
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • To meet legal obligations and respond to your requests.

We do not sell personal data, we do not show ads, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5. Who we share data with

  • Paddle handles payments, tax and invoices as Merchant of Record. It receives your email and purchase details and acts as an independent controller of payment data.
  • Google provides optional sign-in and the reCAPTCHA check on sign-up. reCAPTCHA looks at how your browser behaves to tell people from bots, and Google’s privacy policy applies to that.
  • Resend sends our verification emails, so it receives your email address and the code.
  • Amazon Web Services hosts our servers.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose data.

6. International transfers

We operate from Pakistan and our servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use providers that apply their own safeguards, and we only share what is needed to run the Service.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your email, sign-in details, subscription record, usage counts and sign-up IP address, normally within 30 days. We may keep limited records where the law requires it, such as tax records held by Paddle. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

8. Security

Connections to our servers use HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email support@productscope.org.uk from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it is you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in the United Kingdom, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

10. Children

The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Cookies

This website does not use cookies or analytics, and its fonts are hosted on our own server. When you sign up in the extension, the reCAPTCHA check is loaded from Google and may use cookies, and Paddle’s checkout has its own cookie policy.

12. Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we use your Google account ID and verified email only to sign you in and match you to your ProductScope account. ProductScope’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you about material changes by email or inside the extension.
